Leafy Lane Pottery is run by Suzie Harrison from a studio at the bottom of her garden on Potterill Lane in Sutton-on-Hull. She teaches hand-building, coiling, tile-making and glazing to beginners over six-week courses, alongside two-hour wheel-throwing sessions on Saturdays for those who want a single taster rather than a full course. Classes are kept small and run through the week in the evenings as well as at weekends, with sessions offered for individual visitors, couples and small groups. No previous experience is required and materials, including clay, glazes and kiln firing, are included in the course price. Finished pieces are fired on site before collection, and gift vouchers are available for people wanting to give a class as a present.
