Cyan Clayworks

Cyan Clayworks is a ceramics studio and social enterprise run by Fiona and Chris, who have made and taught pottery in Edinburgh since 2012 and moved into their current premises on Commercial Street in Leith in June 2023. The building holds a working studio at the back, where the pair throw and glaze their own stock, and a small street-facing exhibition room at the front that opens to the public on Fridays and most Saturdays. Alongside their own ceramics, the studio runs beginner and continuing courses for adults, offers monthly membership for those wanting regular studio access, and takes on one-to-one tuition for anyone after more specific instruction. As a community interest company, profits are put back into keeping courses accessible rather than distributed to shareholders. Classes tend to book up several weeks ahead of the published date.
