Heart Buchanan has operated as a deli and cafe-bistro on Byres Road, one of the fixtures that established this stretch as a food-shopping street for the west end. The deli counter is stocked with prepared dishes made through the day, ready to take home rather than eat in, including a handmade tortellini stuffed to order that regulars single out as the counter's best seller. Next door, the cafe-bistro runs a short menu and operates BYOB, with no corkage charge if the bottle comes from Heart Buchanan's own wine list. High shelves throughout the shop are packed with oils, preserves and other stock bought directly from small suppliers rather than wholesalers. The space also takes bookings for private dining. It remains a single-site, family-run business rather than part of any wider group.
