Simply Potty

Simply Potty runs pottery courses from a converted stable at Grove House on Station Road in Grove, on the edge of Wantage, where founder Sarah teaches wheel throwing and hand-building to students of any age or ability. Sessions cover the full process from centring clay on the wheel through to bisque firing, hand-painting, glazing and a second firing to set the glaze, with finished pieces ranging from bowls and cups to plates and custom vases. The studio runs one-to-one lessons, small group sessions and evening courses for adults, booked directly with Sarah rather than through a franchise or booking platform. Visitors describe the setting as informal, run out of the instructor's own home rather than a commercial unit, which keeps class sizes small and instruction hands-on throughout each course.
