A stone-built seventeenth-century pub in the small village of Epwell on the edge of the Cotswolds, run as a family business rather than part of any pub group. The kitchen turns out a seasonal menu that has earned a Michelin Guide entry, served alongside real ale in a low-beamed bar with a log fire and garden, still very much the village local.
